Situated on the shores of Lake Wöhrder See, just a ten-minute walk from the city center, the beautiful campus environment complements its rich artistic atmosphere.
History
The university is one of the youngest public music academies in Germany, its origins tracing back to the Nuremberg City Singing School founded in 1821 by Johannes Scharrer. In 1998, the “Nuremberg Divine Singers School” and the “Augsburg Leopold Mozart Academy” merged to form the “Nuremberg-Augsburg University of Music and Performing Arts.” In 2008, by a decision of the Bavarian State Parliament, the university officially became independent and changed its name to the Nuremberg University of Music and Performing Arts, becoming the third public music academy in Bavaria. The university’s historic main building underwent a complete renovation in 2018 and is now equipped with state-of-the-art teaching facilities. # copy Hochschule Bremen Urkunde.
