The university’s history dates back to the Wiesbaden University of Applied Sciences, founded in 1971, formed by the merger of engineering and technical colleges in Geisenheim, Idstein, and Rüsselsheim, and the Academy of Arts and Crafts in Wiesbaden. In 2009, the university officially changed its name to “Rhinemann University of Applied Sciences and Arts” to reflect its deep roots and influence in the Rhine-Main region. In research, HSRM focuses on four key research areas, where professors and students collaborate to develop future-oriented sustainable solutions for businesses, governments, and social organizations.
